Creation Is Groaning

Evening Thought: Creation is Groaning

As I sit on my back deck, I watch as the birds scurry around the numerous birds feeders that have been strategically placed for them. I see the rabbit quietly nestled down in a patch of grass that has sprouted up from
bird seed falling, after my grandson so meticulously cleared it out just one week ago. I watch bees move from flower to flower, drawing the nectar and then flying off to deposit it at its final destination for its Intended purpose. I watch hummingbirds hovering around the feeder, first one, then two and then three. Do they ever “light” as I only see them hover and fly away as quickly as they appeared. How do they know? Do they have a divine design written within their DNA that programs them for survival and purpose? One provides for another and all is in balance and harmony. Do the flowers know they are there for the bees? Do the birds realize the seed they drop quickly grows grass for the lone rabbit? Are the hummingbirds just God’s gift to me on this beautiful night?

Just yesterday, our nation’s capital was riveted with violence, uproar and filth protesting a nation that is defending itself against a horrible evil that attacked its children, women and young men. The penalty of the sin of the Amalekites rest on Israel’s attacker, yet for some reason the provoker has become the victim to some, even leaders of our nation. Our national flag, our banner of freedom, was burned by those who had no concern that another had died to give them that misguided freedom. Close home, two decades before, my son willingly left his family, traveled to a strange nation, watched friends die, and returned to never be the same again, so these could spit in the face of every American who loves this great nation and the freedom we enjoy.

What a paradox it seems that these two scenarios could exist in the same nation.
All creation is groaning for the sons of God to arise and restore the harmony and balance that seems unretrievably lost forever. There is a war taking place, not between flesh and blood. That’s simply how it manifest. The war is between the ideologies of light and dark; good and evil; God and Satan.

We have the promise of God that righteousness will be restored. What price will that righteousness require of each of us?

Will we pay the price?
