Morning Thought: Jesus, The Light of the World

Terry bought me this beautiful porcelain globe. In the presence of light, the globe spins. The only time the globe stops spinning is when there is no light present. How does this work? There is an “activator”placed within the globe that responds to light, even the smallest amount of light. When light is present, the globe is activated and it begins to move.

I thought about our light, Jesus. Jesus brings light and His light activates our lives. God has placed something inside each of us that responds to His presence. In His light, we begin to move in beautiful rhythm with Him. When His light is not present, like my globe, we lose rhythm and movement ceases. As I observed the globe this morning, I thought of John’s gospel and especially from TPT.

John 1:1–5 (TPT): The Living Expression
1 In the very beginning the Living Expression was already there. And the Living Expression was with God, yet fully God.
2 They were together—face-to-face, in the very beginning.
3 And through his creative inspiration this Living Expression made all things, for nothing has existence apart from him!
4 Life came into being because of him, for his life is light for all humanity.
5 And this Living Expression is the Light that bursts through gloom— the Light that darkness could not diminish!
