Peace Is A Choice

Morning thought

My mind has been all over the place this morning. For some reason I asked myself “are there prophets that are proponents of the ‘left” since all seem to be supporting the “right”. Then i thought ,” oh yes they are called the media” not really intending to be funny to myself although I needed a good laugh. What confusion and chaos we live in.

I was at the Emergency Room with a family member last night and I felt that I was in the middle of chaos…Not from the patients but the staff. People were sitting there in pain and obvious levels of discomfort and staff was coming out of doors and offices very loudly yelling out the patients name, sometimes repeatedly. Another time there was a “last call” for a patient who possibly had gotten tired of the stressful environment and left. I told someone I felt like I was in the middle of a M. A. S. H. episode. I thought to myself even Olive Garden gives people buzzers so they can quietly be called when their spot is open.

So I began to think of the chaos that is rampant in our nation and seems to be filtering down to all levels of our culture. Our schools are unruly. Our hospitals chaotic and our political system is in civil war. People fight and argue over the smallest insignificant issues. Offenses are rampant, even in the churches and in families where love should abound. Media is molding the minds of millions of people daily, boasting they can control the minds of people to change culture, elections and national values.

Where is the influence of priceless Biblical truth and Godly wisdom? I thought about the verses from James 3:17–18 (ESV): 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

We need a baptism of God’s wisdom in our nation, churches and families. We need His peace and gentleness to saturate our hearts and minds. What is the answer?

2 Chronicles 7:14 (ESV): 14 if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
