Day 9: A Day of Revelation
Psalm 46:10
“Be still, and know that I am God.
We are in day nine of our fast and today we need to heed the command to “Be still and know that He is God”. We may read this Scripture and think the Lord is telling us to be still, quiet and not move. However, this verb phrase actually means to relent, let alone or just let go. One of the most difficult obstacles during any fast is that of letting go and letting God deal with us the way He desires.
It is important that we learn to trust God and know that He has only our best in mind. We must know and understand that He alone is God and He desires to bring us to that place where we cannot go without Him. He understands why we think the way we do. He understands why we struggle with some of our habits. He was present when we experienced every pain, every incident of rejection, every abuse, every disappointment.
Why not take a little extra time today and just sit in His Presence and intentionally relinquish everything you’ve been holding on to. Let go of resentment, unforgiveness, bitterness, jealousy, competition, lust, fear, doubt, guilt and discouragement. He wants you to know that He is God and that He has your life in His hand. Say to Him, ” Lord, today I choose to relinquish _______ and trust that You are the Lord of my life.”
Be encouraged that He will work in each and every area of your life, if you will let go and trust that Him.
Psalm 138:8
The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy and loving-kindness, O Lord, endure forever .
