Fast2012: Day 7

Day 7:    A Day of Confidence

 Philippians 1:6  (Amplified)

And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

We are approaching day seven and we are almost one third of the way through our twenty-one day fast.     What a promise we have that the work the Lord is doing in us, not just during this fast but in our life, will be completed if we continue with Him.

Too often we will get frustrated with ourselves because we do not feel that we are making the progress we would like to make.   That same old habit is still there after all these years of serving God and we want to give up on ourselves.    But our God continues patiently working with us knowing that only when we see Him face to face will we truly be like Him.

We must not give up as we press through into week two.    The Lord is at work behind the scenes   developing and perfecting what we have laid before Him.   We must say as the Apostle Paul that we are fully convinced and sure of this very thing that the Lord is continuing to mold and develop us into His image.   He is patient and longsuffering and sees our heart of determination to make it through victorious to the end and He will not give up on us.    Rejoice with me in this that He believes in us and counts us worthy to be brought to completion in His Son!

Philippians 3:13–14

13 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own.   But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
