Day 2: A Day of Expectation
Ephesians 1:3
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
What a great gift we have received as we understand that all of heaven’s blessings are ours through our relationship with Christ. We can truly exclaim “what manner of the love the Father has bestowed on us that we could be called children of God…and that we are!” (1 John 3:1)
As we enter into day 2 of our fast, we must remember that we have already been given access to every spiritual blessing that God has. They are each at our disposal to appropriate into our life, simply by asking Holy Spirit and believing.
What do you need as you continue with your fast? Do you need strength? Then it is yours. Do you need wisdom? It is yours. The enemy will begin to war with your mind and convince you that you are wasting your time. It is during this assault that you must pull from heaven’s arsenal the weaponry you need to defeat the enemy and continue in the journey.
Expect the victory as you continue your time of fasting. Expect to see God move in your life as He reveals, heals and restores all that is needed. Often we expect an instant miracle, when God really wants to give us a plan. God has both and in His wisdom He will supply what is best for you. You may or may not receive a miracle, but God will always have a plan for your life. Trust Him to supply all that you need during this time. Trust Him to speak to your heart and trust Him to enable you to accomplish that desire which He has placed in your heart.
Psalm 37:4–5
4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord [roll and repose each care of your load on Him]; trust (lean on, rely on, and be confident) also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
